Regent Porto Montenegro

Regent Hotels & Resorts opened this beautiful hotel in the summer of 2013. It is built within the superyacht marina of Porto Montenegro, a newly developed town next to the Montenegrian town of Tivat. Montenegro is still a relatively undiscovered gem, where eastern Europe meets west. The country's 295 km coastline has countless uninhabited islands, secret coves and charming harbours alongside unique historical sites – reminders of the country’s grand past.
And Regent was one of the first international hotel companies to open a luxury hotel here. It is quite a special one altogether, due to its marina location. When you stay there, you live in between these fantastic boats and you are part of everyday village life. I loved it!

And I got to work here for a while and I really enjoyed it. The team of the hotel has been very welcoming and accommodating to Alex and me all together. We lived in an apartment opposite the hotel and I loved my short walk to work. I loved that I know people when I walked around the village. I loved the atmosphere of this beautiful place although it was a bit quiet during winter. For me, this is definitely a destination one should consider when looking for that winter getaway! When the sun is out, it is really warm, the restaurants and cafes open their terraces and life happens again outside. back then, tourists during wintertime were pretty much a rarity, but I would not take this for granted that it stays like this forever.
