... and visited the part of Prague which is called Troja. It is a residential suburb but also home to a few high-profile attractions. This part of Prague is home to the Baroque Troja Castle with 19th-century Czech paintings and is host to several wine festivals and concerts. Prague Zoo is also located here as well as the hillside Botanical Garden with amazing views, and a tropical greenhouse. And last but not least there is a great wine shop at St. Clare’s Vineyard offering really tasty local wines and a wine trail, teaching visitors about wine. We spent some time with wine after visiting the gardens of the castle and had a really lovely afternoon in the sun with some lovely pink Czech wine. This needs to be on your Prague to-do list!

Eating around Prague

Every time I´ve been to Prague this year, we went to a new great restaurant. There seems to be an endless supply of cool-looking restaurants, that all have their unique, individual concept and really tasty food. And it was the same again this time. We loved the choice and enjoyed trying those placed very much. Here are the ones we tried, tested, and are happy to recommend: For Vegetarians: (link: https://en.paloverdebistro.cz text: Palo Verde) For Breakfast: (link: https://bistromonk.cz/?lang=en text: Bistro Monk) For Dinner and Drinks: (link: https://www.barcobra.cz/en/ text: Bar Cobra) For Inbetween drinks: (link: https://www.instagram.com/luft.cafe/?hl=en text: Luft Cafe ) Enjoy and guten Appetit!

So much to see in Prague...

Prague is a city with so many different things to do and see and I have a few favourites so far. Last winter, we had the chance to visit the (link: https://www.strahovskyklaster.cz/en/ text: Strahov Library). And not only visited it, but we also had a guided tour, which I would absolutely recommend doing. It is a monastery and historical library with stunning ceiling frescoes, exhibits, and so many books. I think everyone else should visit the Lennon Wall, which became a sight by chance. The wall had been decorated with love poems and short messages against the regime since the 1960s. It received its first decoration connected to John Lennon, following his 1980 assassination when an unknown artist painted a single image of the singer-songwriter and some lyrics. The wall continuously changes, and the original portrait of Lennon is long lost, under layers of new paint. Today, the wall represents a symbol of global ideals such as love and peace. And then you, of course, have to visit Prague Castle, Charles Bridge, the Old Town Square and so many more sights. Always worth a visit, if you ask me...

A weekend away in Prague

I have travelled to Prague so many times in the past year for work and finally, we travelled to Prague for a weekend break last. With no construction on the motorway anymore, we arrived in under four hours from Vienna. The weather was sunny and beautiful and we were off to a great start. The company I work for owns a hotel in Prague and we, of course, stayed there. It is a hotel called Almanac X Alcon Prague, situated very centrally in Prague, stylish and a great base when discovering the beautiful city. It is currently (in 2022) under refurbishment and will become a brand new version of itself before the end of this year. We know Prague a little already and wanted to discover some great restaurants, something off the beaten track, and spend some time in a fabulous European city...
