Hotel Fürstenhof, Leipzig

From the train station, we walked to our hotel, the beautiful Fürstenhof, a former Starwood Luxury Collection Property. Located in a historic building this is the city's oldest luxury hotel. The building was once the private property of a wealthy banking family and became a hotel in 1889 with a further restructuring in 1913. Starwood has now run this hotel since 2000 with its 90 rooms and 10 suites. We were welcomed by the General Manager of the hotel in the beautiful festive lobby and checked into our lovely big rooms straight away. A personal welcome note and a bright, modern room greeted us and made us feel at home straight away. The hotel is in an excellent location in Leipzig, walking distance from the main train station but also just minutes away from the inner city and many of the historic sights the city has to offer. Great hotel, fantastic location, very friendly staff - we felt very much at home straight away.
