Cosy Winter Break

We wanted to spend some days relaxing after the crazy 2023 when we moved yet again and finished off the year with a 4000km road trip from Croatia throughout Germany and back to visit friends and family. In the middle of this big road trip, we stopped in southern Bavaria for some much-needed R&R. The hotel we wanted to stay at was supposed to be modern, yet with a sense of place, located in or close to the mountains, offer more than just the proximity to skiing possibilities and it was supposed to be affordable during this peak travel period.
We found many options during our search but nothing ticked all the boxes until we came across "Das Achental". Located in Bavaria, close to Lake Chiemgau, between Munich, the Austrian border, and the Alps. Recently refurbished, modern and traditional feel and a great offer for activities in the hotel and the area. We loved the look and feel, the activities on offer sounded great, they had a New Year's Party taking place and one of their restaurant served Fondue! Decision made...
