I travelled to Chicago for work and luckily I had the chance to explore this city a little longer this time around. My last visit was only for 24 hours, so this time I got to see a little more. It seems like a pretty relaxed city, not too busy, friendly people and a great dynamic. Good for sightseeing, famous for its location directly at Lake Michigan which feels more like the ocean (you cannot see the opposite shores) than a lake, great shopping and fabulous high rise buildings like Hancock Tower from which you have superb views over the whole area!

I stayed at the fabulous (link: https://tidd.ly/3sgKGAz text: Four Seasons Hotel), only a few blocks away from Lake Michigan, very close to shopping and great restaurants. The hotel entrance is located on the 7th Floor and my room was on the 44th with stunning views of Lake Michigan. Request a room with a lake view, it is definitely worth it. Especially if you wake up early due to jet lag and get to see the sunrise. Love the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago!

Breakfast For breakfast, I chose to go outside and went to this excellent restaurant called "(link: http://4sq.com/1kvQ3Ji text: Beatrix)". Only about 10 minutes walk from the hotel, I went into this stylishly decorated place. As I was by myself, I was chuffed that I was able to sit at the bar. My favourite spot in a restaurant when travelling by myself. We should do this more in Europe... But to sum it up, great looking place, tasty food, fresh juices, good coffee, and friendly service. Thumbs up! Dinner For dinner, we went to (link: http://4sq.com/18yX2u4 text: Nico Osteria), an Italian seafood restaurant in my Gold Coast neighbourhood. Very chic and stylish place, bar seatings and tables are available and the homemade pasta is to die for! I loved this restaurant for the wine, the food, and the excellent service!! Casual Dining For a casual dining place, I can absolutely recommend the french chain if "(link: http://4sq.com/1sZ5ISX text: Le Pain Quotidien)" restaurants - tasty food, great coffees and rustic, yet stylish interior with big communal tables. I'm a big fan of their quiches and homemade mint lemonade!
